When visiting the artist Edward Fuglø on the Faroe Islands in 2016, I was approached by the sister of my host, who was starting her own bakery with cakes and pastries based on recipies from a late relative named Marietta.
Challenge
The sister wanted a logo ident for her bakery and asked me if I could helped creating one based on a picture of Marietta, in order to honor her heritage
Solution
Edward guided me in getting the likeness of Marietta and combined with handwritten font that would emphazise the feeling feel of authencity and traditionbased baked goods.
Various products
Marietta had a lot of recipes for pastries, which meant that the logo was to bestow with labels of the various kinds of pastry that is going to be available in the future. The names are in Faroese and means:
Marsipansnittir: Marzipan bits. Kransekøkur: Wreath cake (Scandinavian tradtional confection eaten mostly at new years eve.). Konfekt: Confection.
